What type of monitoring, keyholding and alarm response?

An effective and prompt response to the Alarm Activation is vital if you require the best security. An alarm which is not monitored is normally reliant upon members of the public calling the police and then of course the police responding. A monitored Alarm System guarantees that the Police are called should an activation occur. To find out more about Police response click here.

The choices are as follows:

Autodialer

A small unit which connects to any control panel. It accepts up to four telephone numbers - mobile or landline and calls them in order as the alarm activates. A different message for each activation, whether it be intruder, panic or fire. Ideally, it should be programmed to call a neighbour or your mobile.

BT redcare home monitoring
Redcare home monitoring is the new domestic monitoring solution from redcare , designed specifically to meet the requirements of a grade 2 domestic alarm system.

A dual-path system, redcare home monitoring has been created for high-end residential sites where the back up of the additional monitoring path is required but where the maximum security of a grade 4 system (such as redcare gsm ) isn't required.

Designed to be compliant with existing standards (e.g. DD243) and the introduction of new EN standards as well, redcare home monitoring is an ideal step up from the digital communicator where previously there was no redcare domestic dual path service available.

How BT Redcare Agile works

BT Redcare Agile gives you flexibility, allowing you to use GPRS (mobile technology) with the added protection of any standard telephone line as a back-up path. If either is interfered with by an intruder, the other continues to monitor for any further alarms and transmits them as ‘confirmed activations’ – extra confirmation that an intruder is on the premises and that the alarm isn’t false. A ‘confirmed activation’ attracts immediate response from the emergency services.

BT Redcare Agile is ideal for small businesses and homes.

DualCom Home

DualCom Home is a powerful, yet affordable, dual-signalling solution for domestic and small commercial properties.

DualCom home uses 2 signalling paths - telephone and radio. With this product, the telephone path is the primary path and the radio acts as the back-up path. To prevent escalating telephone call charges, DualCom Home does not utilise the Open/Close feature as these kinds of property are likely to be entered and left numerous times during the day. However, should an intrusion occur whilst the alarm is īSet' DualCom Home will forward a signal to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).

Why should I use DualCom home?

Unlike traditionally used single-path devices, DualCom Home is capable of sending a second alarm in the event of a telephone line cut or fault. This is known as a īConfirmed' alarm and it is only on this basis that the ARC is permitted to send police response. Single-path devices are not capable of sending a Confirmed signal after a line cut or any other type of damage to the telephone line.

DualCom Home Specifications:

  • Advanced protection for people and property
  • Two signalling paths - telephone and radio
  • Connects to any telephone network, ADSL (Broadband) and ISDN and can share a line
  • Radio path transmits end-to-end in approx 3 seconds
  • Complies with EN50131 Grade 2 for insurance approval
  • Costs no more to install or run than traditional single-path monitored devices
  • Can be upgraded to full DualCom Plus specification
  • Conforms to ACPO and DD243
