Servicing and Maintenance
In order to comply with Regulatory Codes
of Practice and British Standards, it is a requirement that the customer
undertakes to ensure that the System is adequately maintained and covered
by a Service Agreement with the Company.
The Noise and Statutory Nuisance Act gives
councils the power to prosecute persistent offenders in the case of an
alarm which sounds for more than
15 minutes or gives repeated false alarms. It is a condition of Police
(ACPO) regulations that response can be withdrawn where an alarm is not
maintained to British Standards. Failure to conform to the above regulations
could affect any insurance claim you may make in that you have not taken
sufficient regard for the security of the insured property.
All equipment supplied and installed shall
be guaranteed from the date of installation for a period of three years.
This guarantee is conditional
on the System and Equipment being serviced and maintained by Town & Country
throughout the guarantee period in accordance with the relevant British
Standards or Codes of Practice.
TOWN & COUNTRY WILL:
- Register the system, keyholders and updating
of keyholders to the local Police Authority.
- Provide initially a Certificate of Approval for insurance purposes.
- Provide the customer with a priority access to
the Company’s
24 hour manned telephone and engineer call out service.
- Provide one 60 point service visit or two services during the
annual period for a monitored system.
- Set aside all call out charges for any visits
during normal working hours (9-5) Monday – Friday not including
weekends or Bank Holidays.
- Replace any faulty equipment and batteries under the terms of
the guarantee and the terms of a current maintenance contract.
Town & Country reserve the
right to review the charges annually and will notify the customer in
writing giving one month’s notice of any such changes.
